Frégate is a magnificent granite island just 55 kilometres east of the main island of Mahé. With deserted beaches of blinding-white, soft sand, pristine coral reefs, rare wildlife and just 17 luxurious, private villas, and a wealth of facilities, Frégate Island is world-class luxury in a breathtaking natural environment. Frégate offers the most luxurious accommodation, the best beaches and the highest degree of service found anywhere in the Seychelles.

Positioned to guarantee ultimate privacy, each villa is built of native mahogany and clad in rich African Chamfuta Teak wood, blending harmoniously into its natural surroundings. The typical villa plan features square spaces rotated 45 degrees, maximising views of the ocean through two facades. The tropical feel of the buildings is intentionally casual, in keeping with the surroundings; in addition to an indulgent private infinity pool, each villa features a large terrace - with day bed and Jacuzzi - which flows from the interior as part of an extended living area.

Interior architecture is simple and elegant. The post and lintel structure is mirrored inside, framing picture-perfect views of the island; while vaulted roofs and Merbou timber framework faithfully reflect a diverse colonial architectural heritage.

Frégate Island Private has introduced a comprehensive butler concept – with a private butler assigned to each villa to assure personalised and individual services throughout your stay, providing anything, anytime, anywhere on the island.

Fourteen of the villas sit on top of the cliffs with panoramic views over the Indian Ocean. Two more nestle in their own private tropical gardens, and these are particularly good choices for families vacationing with young children. The Presidential Villa Banyan Hill lies high above on the plateau of the eastern strip of Frégate Island Private and can only be reached over a private path. Despite their traditional appearance and supremely laid-back ambiance, the villas come well-equipped with DVD machines and CD players.
And, of course, if the fresh sea breezes aren't quite cool enough for you, there's always air conditioning.

Fregate Island offers you a Five Star Kitchen and perhaps the finest Creole cuisine in the Seychelles, together with the best wines. Meals are served in the Plantation House or in the main restaurant where great emphasis is placed on personal service.

Fregate Island also offers its guests a twenty four hour in-villa dining service and caters for special dining requests such as beach picnics and secluded candlelit dinners. If you like please order your breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner on one of the beaches or the terrace of your villa.

The seven dream beaches of Frégate Island are arguably among the most beautiful in the world for swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving and a variety of other water sports. You have the choice of Anse Victorin, Anse Macquereau, Anse Bambous, Grand Anse (famous as a nesting ground for hawksbill turtles), secluded Anse Parc, Marina Beach next to the marina is protected by cliffs, and Anse La Cour alongside the airstrip is a beautiful sandy beach.

Frégate Island Private's Yacht Club, Marina and PADI Dive Centre are situated on the lower plateau of the island, opposite the plantation and overlooking a shimmering turquoise lagoon. The Yacht Club - with its intimate bar, billiard table, terrace and hammocks - is the perfect place to unwind after an invigorating day on the water. The bar is open into the evening, offering home-spiced rum specialities and BBQ events on request.

Castaway Kids Clubhouse – excellent for children aged between five and twelve years of age, the Castaway Clubhouse is a fun meeting place for Frégate Island Private's young buccaneers and can be opened anytime for families with children.

There is a lot to do on the island – from the Rock Gym with its wonderful views into greens and rock formations offers fitness equipment from dumb-bells to multifunctional gym systems, to the tennis court, grass volleyball/badminton court, paved mountain biking/jogging tracks; beginner and advanced yoga classes are also available. Sports equipment and facilities are provided for guests free of charge.

You might also want to explore the tropical jungle interior, and the sweeping, idyllic island coastline via numerous sun-dappled walking paths and nature trails – at your own pace, or with an ecologist.

Frégate Island Private’s has its own marina and fleet of boats, including kayaks, sailing dinghies, catamarans and motor yachts. Skim across tranquil turquoise lagoons aboard a hobie cat or kayak, ride the lapping Seychellois waves windsurfing, and discover a dazzling array of underwater wonders snorkelling in mesmerising aquatic realm. For younger children there is an Optimist dinghy, ideally suited for ‘learning the ropes’ in the safety of the marina basin.In addition, fully PADI certified scuba diving excursions are available for deeper exploration of the vibrant marine life living in an oasis of coral reefs.

From the comfort of one of Frégate Island’s stylish, fully equipped fishing vessels, both expert and novice fishermen can enjoy the excitement of deep-sea fishing in one of the world’s richest fishing grounds.

The Rock Spa is a natural haven of serenity, nestled on a cliff-top plateau commanding panoramic views of the sea.
